Pam Branch Designs' Jewelry and Two Paintings Available at Joycine's

Last week I drove to Macon, Georgia to meet Barbara Barry, the owner of  Joycine's Art, Attitude & Accessory Gallery.  The purpose of my trip was to show Ms. Barry my jewelry, along with a couple of the paintings I had painted a few years ago, with the hope that she would want to sell my work in her gallery.  I expected to get there, talk business and then get back on the road, but I got much more than that.

Joycine's has been in business for longer than I have been alive and after meeting with Barbara, it was very clear why.  She treated everyone that came in the store like family and they all embraced her as if she were their favorite aunty.  She introduced me as her "new artist" to everyone that entered the gallery, including the mailman, who talked to Barbara like she was an old friend.

While we chatted over pizza, Barbara told me about her own work as an artist, gave me some sound business advice and motivated me to paint more.  She told me that she was going to feature my jewelry and paintings during the monthly "First Friday" event that takes place in her gallery.   "You can bring more paintings when you come down for your opening." she said, with a southern accent as she looked at my work.  I was motivated to get back into the groove of painting.

Since getting back from my road trip to Macon, I pulled my easel out of the garage and have taken stock of the canvas that has been waiting patiently for me to use it.  I guess making jewelry has been at the forefront of my artistic priorities, but now, I am going to make room for my other passion - painting.  Stay tuned to my blog and the News and Events page of pambranchdesigns.com for information on my art opening at Joycine's Art, Attitude & Accessory Gallery.
